Don't discount your crystal pick up, interview with Shaka way back in Echo's, he was asked how his plates lasted so many plays at which be said using a ceramic pick-up drains less signal from the wax (or something like that). Even back then, he was after spares for his Garrard!

Seeing that picture prompted me to do a bit of research. I’ve seen the 16 rpm speed on a few old garrards and lencos in the past, but never in my life have I ever seen a 16 rpm vinyl. Apparently they do exist, but are very rare and were mainly used for spoken word audio book type stuff as the sound quality from the slow speed wasn’t really good enough for music.

That garrard does look good though, must have been well looked after during its life. Does it all work ok?

Even the idler wheel doesnt look like it even been spun
