here's something that just occured to me

with vented boxes, the port inverts the phase

so rear loaded horns cause a phase cancellation...

do ppl know or think its practically possible to invert the rear output of the horn, and how could it be achiveable in practise?

Rear loaded horns are normal ¼ wavelength, so at the cut-off frequency the wave from the horn and driver are in phase…

I.e. the 21” Super scooper has a cut-off of 35Hz with a horn length of 2.44m; the wavelength at 35hz is 9.76Mtrs.

err, sorry, just woke up, I meant front loaded horns, duh
