Hi guys

It’s a well publicized problem apparently, windows explorer gobbling 45percent of resources whilst idling. It’s cocking up my sync with dmx and audio when using showmagic. Has anyone found a solution to this problem.

Cheers

Upgrade machine to min 16gb Ram, and SSD?

Also,  if possible Put Windows OS Partitions on 128Gb SSD, and data on separate Disk?

Research which services can be disabled?

Window 10 always has resource swallowing processes, disabling unnecessary background services,  increasing I/O throughput, will free up CPU usage, and alleviate problem.

Thanks for that, it’s a clean install of windows on an ssd. Showmagic doesn’t need a really smart pc, I get you over the ram, but it’s crazy that this is happening on factory machines right out of the box isn’t it.

Thanks again, I have done all the usual stuff, I’m lucky that showmagic will still work if I disable windows explorer but that’s a poor solution.

Thanks
