Just recently bought a jah tubbys custom 4way POSTED ("NEW") ...
when it arrived first thing i did was plug in power, there right away i noticed all the led light where lit full peak range on the highs and mids $ and halfways on the bass sections.. And nothing was yet plugged in except power... What came to tought is maybe is normal tuing so i continued to set up the pre to my speakers. And turntable full range method.. Once "on" the loudest high pitch screechin peaking feedback noise occured.. And this is with volume all the way down! No music at all just feedback screech.. Then tried it 4way to the sound and same thing.. Supposedly being "new preamp" i thought i was doing somethong wrong , so after reaching out to a few bredrin with a jts pre aswell for advice.. None knew what was causing that noise. Although this preamp was not bought from tubbys direct i did link him for repair and service info but is laaging on responce... Asking anyone with the knowledge of the preamp what this issue might be. .....get a refund? Send for repair?? Easy fix???

This may sound daft
Do you know if this model is suitable for 110v used in the USA? Or is it a euro 220v one? If so, are you using a step up converter?

As its been send from uk it might be worth doing some simple testing before sending it back.. Do you have a multi-meter? And know how to use one? If so take lid off, check the main transformer.. what ac voltage is coming out the transformer? Should be approx +20v (ac) and -20v (ac) After the transformer there will be a bridge rectifier, smoothing caps and 2 voltage regulators, after this point there will be 3 voltage rails, probably 0v (ground) +15v (dc) and -15v (dc)... though could be say, +-12 to +-17.. check you have these voltages.. if so the mains voltage and psu are fine and its something more complicated..
My guess is the power supply is the problem..

That's just the maximum current and voltage rating for the plug socket. Follow the rating label on the box: Stick to 110/120v
