Hello there,
I currently have four 186 horns that I've begun setting up. I purchased one RCF L18P300,
but it suddenly went out of stock, and I've been waiting for a few months now.
I'm now considering the LF18G401 as an alternative. While I understand that it's not ideal to mix drivers,
it seems like a waste to leave one brand-new driver unused. Do you think it could be worthwhile to set up a configuration with
one L18P300 and three LF18G401 drivers?
Thank you for your insights.
Best regards

There are modern, much stronger, better performing drivers, that will work in the 186 Horn, than those RCFs.

Suggest you research those.

EDIT: E.g., something with BL >=30, Xmax >= 10mm, Qes < 0.30.

Something simlar to PD1851

Mixing drivers can often be recipe for disaster.

Sure V18-1000 can be ordered from UK.

There are plenty of used PD1850s in UK.

Maybe you can find used PD1851s.

Also i did my research on gigs and went to hear (tekforce23) that uses 186horns with l18p300 and (PKO) that uses 1850 with v1000s and honestly i kinda missed the low end on those v1000s but they are mutch more agressive. So thats another reason why i went for l18p300s

If you have heard certain driver, and want that sound, so be it, go for what you like.

I've tested so many different drivers in different cabs, I can tell by T/S parameters, what will give me the sound I want, in certain cab, before buying, so is different for me.

Well i dont have that kind of experience yet, but lets back up a bit, you are saying that mixing drivers can lead to disaster but is there a chance its not leading to it ? i mean p300 and g401 are kinda similar drivers manifactured by same brand.

I meant, it is not the same, as the original PD1850 series.

I haven't had a chance to hear them yet, but they are still 200 euros more expensive. I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest budget option, but that price difference is quite significant.

Mixing drivers in the same box (e.g. a twin 18" reflex) is particularly inadvisable because they might behave differently to the port tuning etc.  Putting different drivers in single cabs is potentially less of an issue, as long as you accept that they might not sound exactly the same. If they're similar enough you might not notice. I can't see there being any issues in terms of causing damage to anything though.
