At the risk of sounding like an old Harry Enfield character they should really be called Martin Audio Turbo Nutter Bastard Bins or something like that. Must keep repeating to myself "you don't need Martin and ASS, you don't need Martin and ASS, aaaaahhhhh!!!

3 martins allready go down pretty fare maybe 55hz? So would definitely need to run round about 30hz pr stack of 4. Haven't tryed using hornresp before, i allready know the very very basic from looking at sims, do you know a go link for a detailed guide/walkthrough?? |

forget about bandpasshorns like f221 if you want 30Hz, its not possible.
Labhorn, Superbasshorn, Big Bertha... if you want a Horn. Common Infra Subs for 30-60 Hz are 6th-order bandpass or bassreflex. Take a look in the newbie discussion, there is a guide to hornresp :) |

Early 1980's that one Tony...not sure about the pair of 215's hanging off the end of the scaffolding, and then the phillishaves and horns packs on one side above them to try and balence it!...not sure you could get away with that thesedays,Health and Safety etc.

Those 215s will not move at all with a pair of Phillis on top keeping them in place Ian---The S2 bins look huge next to the old 115 bins but when they are stood on end, I don't remember them being as wide as 4 ft.
I can remember when we had our four S1 bins and they used to fit perfectly four wide across the bulkhead in a Movano van. |

How did the S1/S2's sound John? I have honestly never heard any. Did they really go as low as the Martin specs suggest?..could you use them as stand-alone bass cabs,or did you need the 115/215's on top to provide the punch?

Oh but im soo horny i could never go with a bassreflex. Big bertha, too close to CV earthquake horn, and a tad too big. How about invaders? Very very flat and can go down to about 30 stacks of 4. Any thoughts on this? I guess there more bassbins than sub, and they play so far up i wouldnt really need any Martins hmm. forget about bandpasshorns, why wouldnt they go down 30hz? slippin a pin in my dreamy balloon ;) |

Ian--The S1s that we had were awesome little bins--we put together a very small but powerful rig for smaller venues using a pair of S1s per side stood next to each other on their ends with the horn scoop at the bottom and on top of these we used a pair of stacked F1 mid/hi packs per side--in a pub type gig or working mens club the sound was amazing with full deep bass but still with the kick of a 115 as well and the F1s could take your head off if required. Never owned any S2 bins but have worked both in doors and outside doing FOH on big systems using them and I always had a smile on my face--Cheers--John. |

I would imagine that was the left hand side as you look at it and those 2x15 etc were part of a near field/ centre image setup.
