Hi, Can anyone tell me the difference between a Crown/Amcron macro tech 5000vz and a 5002vz? 
Any info would be great

if anything the 5002 is slightly more reliable. Certainly no cost cutting involved.

They actually made the tweaks to the 5000 in production and only later renamed them the 5002, so unless you lift the lid you're unlikely to know what you've actually got.

The 5000/5002 have had several different main pcbs over the long production run, as components have become unavailable or better ones have been introduced, and room made for them on the board.

An example would be the ODEP circuitry. Older amps use precision resistors on thick film pcbs. Later ones have the circuit built directly on the board.
Another one is the CMRR circuit. Earlier: on a thick film daughter board. Later: on the main board.

We all know about the visible improvements, eg revised PIP card arrangement, connector and available facilities, speaker connections etc.
