hi there, I'm putting together a rig and have spotted some bass horns i liked the sound of. but they are too expensive to buy, so i was thinking of making them myself... the martin audio 115's with 15" drivers would suit the rig very well.

Does anyone know where i can get the plans? or does anyone have the plans that i can get a copy of?

I realise this could be a sensitive subject, because of intalectual license, but i figure these speakers have'nt been produced for years so i can't see the harm in asking around.

kind regards from an enthusiast
Lenny

Ian, here are some details of the Martin Bin and driver I found with a quick search (can't remember the driver model, but I believe it's an RCF). Make these at your peril, they still belong to Martin Audio and there are some (good) fake plans around, just to make things tricky!

For sidefills, can we have two enormous things of a type that might be venerated as Gods by the inhabitants of Easter Island, capable of reaching volumes that would make Beelzebub soil his pants.

Here's the datasheet, back from when these were considered the bass bins, with nothing under them:

@jazomir - I haven't tested your model, but it looks like a good addition to the Hornresp inputs sticky.
LOL

Oh, have a happy birthday.

Maybe consider building something like the 215, the 115 is a fairly large box for a single 15 kick type speaker.

Lenny,to answer your original question,i wouldnt go to the effort of building these,as the cost of the plywood alone would exceed what you can buy used empty Martin 115`s for..there are usually a few around for sale, just ask the guys above.
Be seeing you.

Price is dependent on condition and on being an original,or a copy....scruffy copys are around 50 quid empty..thats why i said its not worth building them from scratch....expect to pay a  little bit more for a clean original one.
Be seeing you.
