Hi Dave

Its been a crazy year work wise, so unfortunately spare time has been hard to come by to finish this project. I think once festival season is over I will be able to firstly finish the crossover and amplifier refurb, then look at making some jigs up and getting some F2b's knocked up. It will happen...I'll use this thread as a progress log Thumbs Up

Edit* .... I was also thinking about putting the mid Hi horns into separate boxes to make them a more manageable lift! they are silly heavy!

That's a billy bargain if I do say so myself, especially with all intact original drivers and working passives.Clap

Ha ha, I'll always keep the original carcasses. They are just very heavy and difficult to splay when they are a cube! Now I have the extra top boxes it would be nice to have them in trap cabs to splay them easier. Or maybe a similar layout to the d&b c4? Also If I was to separate the hf and mid, I could also add a tilt system to easily angle the hf section down to minimise reflections etc...

Talking of splitting, I wonder how the F2 would fair if spilt into 2.
I think this would assist in moving them around and keeping ones spine intact.
But would the sound change considerably?

F2 tops were originally a modular design so you could probably very easily separate the components and it'd not be much different to how it was used in the first place.

I meant F2b's.
This would be ideal as singles

You might be right.
Been told that the magic of this box is assisted by the coupling of the 2 drivers in the shared horn mouth.
I wouldn't wanna lose this effect in an unrecoverable way, even when split and then coupled when stacked as 2.

F2B's cut in half? Nope! The horn is a bifuricated horn. It's two separate throats that share one mouth... meaning the horn can't be cut in half.

Trying to find the link to the same question being asked on another forum... but failing at the mo.

F2B is only a tiny little bin anyway so I cannot see the point.
