I have a pair of McKenzie PA speakers and one of the 8" drivers has gone open circuit (replacement on order), however whilst open I noticed the overload protection device attached to the underside of the cross-over is missing on both speakers - does anyone know the specification of this device, please?
Although there's no model number to ID the speakers, the cabinet has a McKenzie Alpha-8A drive and an APT super tweeter which may aid idendetification. Regards Geoff. |

McKenzie drivers have been defunked for many years and I don't remember any drivers that used the "Alpha" prefix. The Alpha 8A would suggest that the driver is actually Eminence (as is the APT tweeter).
If the crossover is Eminence they usually use a bulb which is freely available on tinternet.
