Looking for suggestions for a mic stand with the smallest base footprint possible. Ideally 5" round, isn't going to get a whole bunch of abuse in the job, so doesn't need to be K&N quality. Any suggestions?

If a 'table stand' will suit your requirement this item might suit:

Sorry, I replied in a hurry and just re-read your post. I guess a 'table stand' just isn't tall enough....
The other round base mic stand from Studiospares is 250mm dia. - too big?? I also looked at some other brands of mic stand with round bases - Equinox stands from JP Leisure have a 246mm dia. base. Hercules products are pretty good - I have several - here's the link: Hope this helps.
