I've got a spare 2226H and some other spare JBL drivers knocking about so I thought I'd build a little MINI rig for a friend for Christmas...nice aren't I! He listens to allot of dub and reggae and I do remember seeing on here that this driver works well in one of the MINI designs. I did design something reflex that would work well but as I've never built a SCOOP before I thought it would be nice to broaden my horizens. Any help would be appreciated.

Those drivers are really sweet in a Reflex cab...not sure if they'd be improved by a Scoop.

Really I thought they'd work well in a scoop? I've simmed a 260l ported box that plays low enough so maybe I'll just stick with that. I just fancied something a bit more exciting than a square ported box.

Yeah...I here yer, I struggle with the same conundrum myself...form over function. I have some of those 2226H and they've a lovely warm HiFi sound in a ported reflex. Maybe experiment with an exposed slot port, something like the B&C subs?

are there any public domain miniscoop plans with hornresp inputs available? If you find some, you could plug in the 2226 TS parameters and see what it doeskin that particular scoop.
a single 4530 (classic JBL single 15" scoop) with a 2226 will most likely underwhelm for it's size, and not go very deep (cutoff 50 Hz afaik)

It will sound great in a 4530 scoop!

Support the scoop technology, larger mouth plays louder!

I've seen the JBL design but I need to keep it as 'MINI as possible.

How about 15" MicroScoope?

Signature is important. So I always write something in this dedicated field.

That's what I was aiming for! A mini 15" that's tried and tested with the JBL 2226h.

Have you had experience with this cab and the JBL driver in question Nicky?
