Pure guesswork but I don't think they were placed side by side for testing? I've seen positive reports for that sort of layout using tangband drivers elsewhere (from people who didn't own beastly 20hz horns also) so hopefully nothing to worry about :)

If you scale down a bass horn eg a superscooper, then the horn wont be long enough to reproduce any low frequencys and you will get honky nonsense. You need something with a lots of folds to make up the long horn length... as demonstrated above

"The guy didn't remove or short out his huge TH enclosures when testing the smaller ones, so in effect he was listening to 4 cabs, not 2! "
Hmm, it plays 104dB/1W/1M, I'd say that was remarkable too for a 35L box!

Cor, never seen that simmed before. Thats probably better for in terms of cab size and input vs SPL compared to a lot of 15 and even some 18 reflexes although they probably suffer less power compression.

In regards to a mini-scoop...I have a friend that just scaled down the eminence design to fit a 6£ driver. He wanted it for his car. I must say, as long as you’re not expecting pro audio results, and are just having a giggle….there’s nothing wrong with it at all.
Eminence to have a 12” scoop design though, which I’ve considered building for my home DJ workstation. A pair of 12” scoops to go under my home 12-6-1” - and I’d be very happy. (yes my neighbours are old and deaf lol) |

Recently finished building a transmission line for home use.
Designed to play 40 Hz up to around 300 Hz, measured fairly flat when set-up outside.
The cone excursion doesn't rise up steeply at low frequencies so there's no need for a high pass filter for home usage.
Driver is Monacor SPH 165-CP
