how are you flying the midtops? Aerotrack, Bolt holes for eyes, etc etc? You installing internal metalwork to bind the top panel to the side panels and to the fly system? Just curious really, quite rare to see people braving flying DIY designs - but i have little doubt you will do it well.

I wish I could see the photos. The server they are hosted on is blocked at my workplace.

Ginge, yes Vickers fly track with internal bracing. Although these are big boxes because of the Neo 12's they are quite light. There is also a small piece of fly-track at the bottom of the back for pull back.

Folks get a bit hung up about flying gear, as long as care is taken and no corners cut it is actually very simple.

Have to agree with tony regards flying, look at some of the kit that gets flown all the time, moving lights that are 50 odd kg's.. think concern needs to be more about the structure/rigging that your flying the speakers from..

Tony, how are you getting on with these? how light will the V4M's and any pictures of the smaller V2M's yet?

haha i have no problem with 'diy flying' long as it is done sensibly, which i know you would. Is easy enough long as you make double sure it would never come down in a hurry, even in a fire! Agreed with the 'what you are attaching it too' comment, though if it is a sensible person it should never be an issue.

Keep the pic's coming, interesting project!!

Chris,

Yes aiming to cross the 12's as low as sensible, whilst keeping the power reasonably balanced.

On my own double 12's that used the same 12" jobby I used to hi-pass at 45hz and gave them loads of EQ when they were used on their own and the buggers just kept taking it :).

Gareth,  To be honest too many irons in the fire at the moment to work on them. A guy locally to me has exactly the same drivers etc, Hi, 2 x 12's and 18's but has got them in a much jazzier box. Could possibly arrange a demo of that if you need to hear what they can do in a hurry.

this rig is going to be a bit more down the line I thinks, the multipurpose tops and 18 subs is to start with so I can wait.. if i can get plans for the multipurpose boxes it be great and then a sub to use with these, the V4M/V2M's can wait, must admit would love to work with you on your designs tho..
