longer horn would extend the low end, by making the horn shorter in length it would just bring the low end back up. To bring the high end response up would be to use a phase bung

BC pe32 is what I have used, most mid band drivers will work in this horn Lev

what drivers did you have in mind? and please don't say PD121Dead

PD123, Celestin Tn series

Or it'll be another thread for the chop.

Will fg horn be as optimum as wooden flare without bowl?

People buy their cabs with their own cash, so it's their choice which driver they use.

Have heard MTs with 2" + PD123ER, PD121, Eminence Kappa Pro, Fane 12MB, engineer knew his way around LMS & parametric, so it sounded fine.

Appreciated. But have you measured them? just listening - yes they will sound fine. But lot's of peeps can't here gaps in the bandwidth. I noticed that at the sound checks

Midrange horns are not like Bass bins. Driver plus horn must match.

whats wrong with the PE32? great driver, put's the PD121 to shame in a horn

Due to MT121 Horn design, unless you cross 2" in at 1.5khz,  you will get gap in bandwidth.

The PE32 has a good reputation, and sounds nice, but is not in everyone's budget.

Most SP people know at least 3x guys who can supply cheap PD, Fane, Celestion, Eminence.
So it's cab buyer's choice.

So if FG MT121 horn can't work with range of good drivers, and not much improvement on performance, and not cost efficient, then no point really.

Is that a phase bunged 6" & 1" ?

May look good, and sound great at lowish SPL, but wiil they keep up with the 12" at high SPL at distance/outside ? We already know what happens to Xtro top end, when the 15s get going.

In terms of SPL outside, can 6"+1"  match what's possible from high powered JBL/B&C 2" ?

Not for me.. LOL

Plenty of reasonable priced options for MT121 that are firing.
