spent about 4 hours playing with 3 cabs this evening. very clear, undistorted bass and high output. crossed into the rs220 at 120hz the mth30 holds its own very well and moves a  lot of air when driven hard. only thing letting the cab down is its low end response, the absence of certain notes in a couple of songs was very noticeable. however, this really wasn't a problem with the majority of music played (ranging from dub/dubstep to jungle to soul to hip hop to rock).
if anyone who owns some of these subs wants a cheap thrill i suggest playing fantasy by the xx at full beans.

so all in all, grat cab in my opinion but i'll prob end up trying out the tham15 in the hope of lower extension.

If you haven't seen it already, I'd look into Jbells (diyaudio.com) single sheet tapped horn design. 2 will be flat down to 40, can be build from a single sheet of 8x4 and was designed around the 3015lf which can be picked up for £130 maybe less.

thanks for that, will check it out. that sounds a lot more cost effective than the tham15 with b&c 15tbx100.

Just finished my first one. Nice design indeed!  Sounds better than my cubo15 extended (RCF L15P540) and might be louder too, but however cubo does a bit lower I think.  Need to measure/compare them too. Anyway, I'm amazed how loud it is being just single 12"!   Yes, I have hog scoops etc big horn stuff but this thing is just sooo fun to play with.

But I did a stupid comparsion using cell phone spl meter. But it gives however some clueabout spl differences beetween reflex and mth-30, both having JBL 2206H:

First mth, second reflex (60litres tuned to 55Hz)

100Hz:  71/71dB
90Hz:  68/67dB
80Hz:  72/69dB
70Hz:  74/66dB
65Hz:  73/67dB
60Hz:  72/67dB
55Hz:  68/62dB (MTH still 6dB louder)
50Hz:  62/57dB
45Hz:  56/53dB

Impact 12" driver was used here, as it sounds pretty good in mth30! I did push it really hard and no problems what so ever, with Carlsbro pro 2000 amp (2000W/4ohm bridged).

Mine used to bang away (as a single) in my bar most weekends quite happier using the PD driver. The lack of serious low end was the plus for me as the crowd preferred the fact it pounded instead of boomed!

I'm sure 4x these with a pair of 8/10" tops would fill any small/medium hall with more then enough pounding bass to put a smile on ya face

...what driver are you using?

If it sounds like a gorilla is trying to escape, turn it down.
