I like the cross firing mid design, good job. Looks good also.
If it was easy, everyone would do it!

What are the 8's? Is the 8 section louder this way?

Marjan I imagine the 8" section is slightly less sensitive but will handle more power.

the dual 8 section is based on a modified version of an existing P-audio driver

They are not available to the general public

the closest equivalent would be the S8-38M

the configuration handles loads more power than the initial variant and is definately louder (about 6 dB louder than the S8-38M in a wooden horn)

the V configuration also gets rid of beaming ,

although , not evident, the V configuration is  the simplest way of making the emissions center of the two speakers as close as possible without needing smaller cones

in this configuration , the mids stay perfectly coupled until 1200Hz which is the crossover point to the compression driver

I lost touch with this thread for a little while since I have not had much free money around to build. I'm glad to see the design get pushed  along. I have been waiting two years to build mine.  I think I am going to go the p audio route because of wattage reason.  Its matches my amps better. I love the idea of the 2 inch horn and the double mid. Better to have more then you need then see people taxing and blowing things out.... I am thinking this same extro and then 3 punishers under each side, using the p audios. The p audios are a little more in the us. I can get lab drivers super cheap but I like the size of the punishers

Hi,
Does anyone have a drawing on the double 8" horn? I want to make one.

They sound better than the orginal horn?
