What about spec of this driver, is it also similar with the V18 1000? How does it sounds like Xmax? I think Im beginning to some interest on it.

I also notice the chassie is slightly different around the mounting flange, no ribs on the above picture where the V18 does.

Not sure whether this uses a kurt muller cone adam, but for the price of 200USD,I can say that it has great build quality.Smile

The specs are little down on the real deal (PD1850).. but still... (if the pound was a bit stronger) they would be a bargain... (as it is with the pound - dollar I will stick with the real deal).

Yep I know T&T, they are Shanghi based. Not a bad product, but i've always managed to blow all there stuff up. I'm not sure the coils are up to much.

Void sources the chassis and magnet for the V18-1000 from China, they are pretty generic parts and I know of at least another 4 companies here using the same chassis and magnet. But thats where the similarities end. We wind our own coils so I know its good stuff and there is no way they can get a Muller cone into China and use it in a product with a street price of 150 to 200 USD. The glues used will probably be crap as I've never seen a Chinese glue that can hold anything together for more that 10 mins. Again to import western quality glue would bring the cost up a lot. The way the lead in wires are designed and fabricated also has a lot to do with reliabilty too. I'm not sure that some 18 year old on coral draw really knows whats needed when it come to designing super reliable lead in wires.

So no, not a copy, its just using a lot of the same parts as I do for the V18-1000. Its the coil, cone and suspension that make a good woofer and I know they are not using the same as me as they are not buying parts from me.

This may sound strange, but I don't know any of the prices of Void stuff and I don't want to.

I'm not a salesman and I can't design if I know how much things cost. I'm not prepared to build or design to a cost, so its better than I never know how much it all costs.

I think you will have to ask a Void distributer how much the V18-1000 costs.

Best wishes,

Rog.
