Hello!
I want to bulid some Nexo PS-15 clones for stage monitoring, but I'm curious what drivers are in this cab. Maybe it is P.audio WN-15S. The HF horn is similar to P.audio PH-1919 but with 2" exit, but i'm not sure if it is P.audio. I also want to know what driver is in the Nexo LS400. If anyone knows what drivers are that, please share with us the details. Cheers. |

build something else in short - unless you copy of buy the ps15 td controller they wont work properly - the tuning of this and every nexo speaker is reliant on the controller. component wise, from memory the 15 is a phl unit and the comp. driver is a b&c. Both units are modified for nexo by the makers and are not available directly, only through nexo. add to that the passive crossover network and the compensation network in these boxes, and it is simply not worth trying. so, buy the real things or design something yourself - i think it is an unwritten rule in this forum that current comercial designs should not be copied |

And the PS15's don't sound amazing, even with a controller! They try to be too multipurpose and don't do any of it perfectly.

NEXO ordered a 500W RMS / 1000W Program version of the WN-15 from P-audio.
I don't know where exactly it's used , and even if I did I wouldn't be allowed to say. |

Nexo doesn't use any P.Audio stuff in their box. period. please stop the FUD or prove your information... and regarding PS15, the LF driver is based on PHL 5050 and the high is based on B&C DE750. |

Originally I thought the HF was based on the DE750, same as I thought the L'Acoustics ARCS used one but on closer inspection I don't think either do.
For a start the driver in the PS15 is actually a 1.4/1.5" driver. My guess would actually be the DE700. Also, for a while I had assumed that the PS15, ARCS and V-Dosc all used the same PHL 15" because they looked the same, and they do. However having had the chance to compare them side by side there is a definite difference in the compliance. I just wish I'd made some notes when I looked inside all these cabs..... |
