your C-drive - a harddisk/ partition needs more space.
that has nothing to do with all the extra memory cards

As above^, nothing to dow ith your RAM. The update needs space to unpackand then install too. Have you only got <1Gb left on your OS drive? If so you're going to have a bad time over the next year regardless. One update cycle can often consume 200Mb so you'll be out totally soon enough. Although it also seems to think you're installing from an external source, which is odd for C:\ which is 99.9% a the address of your first internal drive. From your post are you saying the entire thingis running off a couple of SD cards, no hard drives at all?

Use ccleaner to free up some space on the c drive. Then plug in some external storage with at least 10gb.
Or get a better laptop.

OK m8 you have one of the things that should never have been sold. They were heavily subsidized. You have a 32gb (less in reality) hard drive which will be a non replaceable thing on the board. This was never thought through and voila you get the issue you have now. Only one I have seen with a way out is the Asus one, this has a compartment and connections for a full size 2.5" drive underneath, is it an Asus? If so is there a one screw flap on the bottom? If so a bigger SSD drive can be fitted, Windows installed fresh to that and the boot order changed. If it's not an Asus you are shot. Only way round is a complete format from USB drive EVERY time Win 10 does it's latest thing, basically twice yearly. If you want any of the above done ship it to me, I can sort it, no charge. Failing that find a local guy and show him this text. If it does not have the ability for the drive upgrade I am afraid with your knowledge I would call it a day or google, "defer windows feature update" and keep using that. Then clean up everything in the software distribution folder (getting technical again) Absolute bottom line on new SSD (you want SSD for speed) laptop is:

All of this basically. Having a 32Gb drive as a main OS partition is not going to cut it with Windows 7, let alone anything more modern. I keep a very tight ship on my main PC and nothing lives on the OS drive except the OS. All data and programs are separated onto other partitions. Windows 7 is currently taking up nearly 100Gb of data... A few things may have sneaked into there over the years but that really is nearly all Windows + years of updates and service packs. If you can't get another drive in there then that machine is unfortunately not suitable for a modern windows install imho. But if all you want is web browsing and email etc, general use, you might find a flavour of linux would work pretty well with it. |

Again does this laptop have an optical drive?.. all this can be ignored if you have an optical drive bay.

Most of these 32gb ones do not. I know what you were thinking. Just looked at a fresh 10 install and it's 30gb, plus a few on hidden partitions I have seen this issue at least 10 times and only the Asus has a way out without scratch install
