As it's august i thought id start a thread to discuss all things NHC. Is anybody here doing anything this year? Does anybody have a list of which sounds are playing?

Day 1 of the carnival - top sound systems (to me!)
Killawatt - Great overall sound - heavyweight (can’t remember the details!) Volcano - L’Acoustics on mid hi and several huge FLH (21”-24” possibly?) Aba Shanti-I - QSS system totally grilled/foamed up so couldn’t tell what it was packing BUT thunderous and authoritative bass, mids were a little strained and HF a little too bright. Probably because of the way Aba prefers the sound! Non the less, fantastic Looking forward to day 2!

Great weather and vibes this afternoon.
These are the sound systems that stick in my mind. This one for sheer bass pressure: https://ibb.co/drj5MH8 https://ibb.co/xh4bSDw This one very close on sheer bass pressure to the one above, but also very hi-fi sound and even coverage: https://ibb.co/Svq15Y7 https://ibb.co/nL7rJVy This one for quite simply a very appealing and powerful sound: https://ibb.co/4mL1wvy https://ibb.co/Rgn1hp1 This one for having a very punchy sound. Proper kick in your chest: https://ibb.co/pn1W3mW https://ibb.co/Rz59bxS |

All I can say is
QSS - Stand up tall Aba Shanti-i sounded even better than yesterday. Best system of the weekend. Also big up the 2x RC1 trucks, they were as brutal far away as they were up close! |

Sinai tops sounded spot on, just how I thought they would. Nice clear sound.
The void rig for sir Lloyd as always sounded just right, the bass is always so heavy with the x-horn extension. Probably could have done with another arcline 8 on top of the three, just to carry that sound to the back of the crowd but apart from that sounded great. This float definitely had the best vibes by far, amazing energy and spirit from everyone involved and good selection of tunes. All in all a good carnival experience, even if it was a little busy to say the least Edited by godge - 30 August 2022 at 11:03pm |
