yeah could quite believe it.
Have saw both flown and ground stacked line arrays spread around the stadium. Ground stacked looked like 4 tops, and flown arrays looked like maybe 8 or 10. There'll also be at least a couple of subs per group of tops, say 4, and some extra speakers right up in the uppermost parts of the stands to fill in. The stands look as if they are pretty even and circular all the way round that stadium, and pretty huge, so they'll have the stacks evenly spaced around. Something like 25-30 positions around the stadium, not out of the question, plus a few extra speakers to cover extra areas and the royal/VIP area and some fill/monitors on the field to complement all the in-ears most of the performers seemed to be on, and your right up there in that ballpark. In terms of power thats only an average of 2K per speaker for the 500. If you assume the figure is the total amp power that's potentially available, including the headroom etc, not what necessarily being used, and probably rounded up from a touch below that to get a nice even figure, that's also fairly understandable. k |

Does anyone know which audio manufacturers' products have been installed in the main Olympic stadium?
I'd hope it's mostly British made - we're pretty good at making amps & speakers in the UK - FFA, MC2, Matrix, Martin Audio, Tannoy, Turbosound, F1, Ohm, Logic, Opus to name a few. Some top names in Mixers & Processing too - A & H, Cadac, Midas, Soundcraft, xta, bss, LA audio, If UK audio mfr's didn't get a hefty slice of business from this huge project then I think we should be ashamed of ourselves and be told the reasons why. |

hahaha
just saw a shot of the stadium there with loads of line arrays. LOL my estimate of how its laid out actually seems conservative from that shot and I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't MORE than 500 speakers!! Will try and get a screengrab once its up on iplayer or youtube k |

The Queen was bored shitless! Bad editing.
It was ok, bit I really did think the IKB bit was too long. Mr Bean is international, and is played everwhere. IKB is British only. Peeps from Peru would not get that. Also thought Sir Mcartney looked drawn. Status Quo the winner???? Glad our yellow jersey hero was the bell ringer.
