Why not sell these drivers and buy 8 better quality drivers that would be suited to the g-sub?

why just not build 4 C subs (plans off this site ) stick full grills on the front a pair each side stacked one on top of the other and build a couple of nice 12'' + 1'' tops with matching grill to sit ontop. then you can scale various size rigs e.g. 4 C subs a side with a pair of tops a side for bigger gigs

As a slight variation on the GSub, you could go for building single designs such as the B&C Sub18 or 18Sound Kit18 design (both quite similar). Or modify the designs for your own purpose.
Single designs will give you much greater flexibility in stacking, especially if you're doing more corporate work, different venue sizes. For example 3 singles on their sides tends to give the ideal stacking height for mid-tops in many cases. |

+1 to this. If you want to stay Eminence, even the Sigma would do better than the Omega in G-sub style box. Despite its lower power handling it has more useable Xmax, and is cheaper to start with so you should be able to get a reasonable quantity for the $ you'd get for the Omegas. David.

Thanks for the replies guys....im looking at the Sigma pro's ya'll recommended and they do look good....would the difference in wattage be an issue or is the 150 watts fairly negligible? I had some 600 watt seleniums and they didn't last at all....i just realize they only have an xmax of 3.8...i was wondering why they tore up like that lol

If you went with a fairly standard single 18" reflex design you could use the Omega's if that's what you have available immediately, then upgrade to a higher performance reflex driver later.

800W vs 650W is less than one dB more power, so even if each driver could use exactly its rated power before reaching Xmax, you probably wouldn't even notice it (all else being equal). Given that the Omega can't use most of its available power without running out of excursion anyway, the useable output of the Sigma, with each driver powered up to Xmax, should be 2-3dB higher. David.
