I've heared some people say that the v18-1000 isn't nearly as loud as the PD1850 in an X1, however the v18-1000 is supposed to go slightly lower.

Maybe but PD 1850 costs more than Void (140GBP more). This is big different in price

Some trusted members here have said PD1850 is a bit better in X1 than V18-1000, but not much. I can't remember if PD was deeper, louder or just sounded better.

I have an 850, 1450 and a 2450 in the hifi in my lounge; just about loud enough for that :) |

Matrix 3000, Proline 3000, and JBL MPX1200 are the only cheapish amps that I have heard run X1s well.
on the subject of drivers...
If you know where to look you can get a PD1850 for the same price as a V1000, there's really not much in it sound wise IMO... however on one occasion, in a direct comparison the 1850 seamed a bit more sensitive, the V1000 got going at higher levels... one occasion without any real science / serious testing behind it, so take that as you will.
Response wise I doubt anyone could tell the difference blind.

I used to have X1s loaded with V18-1000 and PD1850. Used to even use a mismatched pair for a while... Really couldn't tell any difference between the two.
They model pretty much identically as well...

is it possible the void was quite new and the 1850 had been run in? i heard a huge difference on about the the 3rd time we took ours out- they got much louder (it was in the same venue run from the same amp and we had to hold back on the sub rather than run it just below clip). |

Quite possibly! Could have been any number of veriables... the 1850 in the cab mentioned was older than the V1000, the 1850 had been around the block a few times, not sure on the V1000.
Totally agree on them getting much louder after running in.
I consider the V1000 and the PD1850 to be identical in response and application suitability.
