Any comment on which box SD 18 will perform better, will this driver fits easily with 1850? Im planning to built 4 cabs using Paudio SD 18 but still confused which one to build, 186 or 1850. |

we run sd18s in ours and they sound great.. a more rounded sound than the pd1850s IMO. The box had to be modified 'very' slightly if i remember rightly to get the driver in but other than that all good.
Though for your money i would pick up the V18 1000s as a far better driver for the 1850 horn. Edited by Dub Defector - 21 August 2008 at 11:18am |

did they also go lower or heavier than the pd1850? it might so coz it has a higher qts than pd1850. have you tried it with 186? Yah V18 1000 its gud, as many say but its not easily available here in my place. SD 18 you can get it anywhere. Are they of the same price?

SD18 will work in either horn - Rog says it's just a matter of fitting - 1850 horn for larger stacks, 186 for smaller.
I think the V18-1000 might suffer from the same problem as the 1850 driver would in the 186 - listening fatigue, though I may be wrong. |

yes deadbeat, i got already two 1850 with 186 chamber (i made a mess, i accidentally mixed them actually), i wanted to build 4 more 3 per side or stack of 6 would do for me for now and most likely to use sd 18 but im still confused which one 5to built 186 or 1850. Maybe ill just put another piece of plywood inside my two cabs to make it an 1850..idont know.

I think you should experiment with securing the piece temporarily, and decide whether you like the sound. Remember to do this with the other cab for a relatively fair comparison, though expect more lower end from an 1850 in a stack of 4 or more.
