have some HDs which I dont use much
 
 
or how about just making the XT8 & HF into a smaller box to go above a pair of HDs - would this work.....

Yeah they just about fit, you will need to either route a small notch out from the back panel or extend the rear chamber by 3-4mm, this will not have a noticeable effect to sound. I have a friend who built some and had to take a grinder to the box to fit the drivers in.
