well can someone please tell me which is the best to use in a 15" scoop
-pd158 -pd156 The drivers in the scoops atm are rated 150 w rms so when I buy new drivers the power will be 4 times heavier Do I have to reinforce( if so how?) the cabinet or should it be able to handle those vibrations/power cheers |

PD1550 would be a much better scoop driver than those two.
What cab did you build?
Eminence scoop design sounds sh*te. JBL scoop design not all that either. Very smooth but ain't thunderous when I heard them.
Fane scoop design when properly braced is not bad. I think Solution Sound Systems, old 15 inch scoops were either Fane or JBL design.
I have heard Fane design 15 inch scoops with either Beyma 15G400 or Eminence Omega 15 or Fane 15XB in them that sounded pretty good.
Micro Scooper 15 design is probably the best 15 inch scoop design.
The cabinet should be reinforced enough already, otherwise you have to add braces at the mouth of the scoop in a 1 across, 1 down way joined tightly between the flare sides and flare bottom and top.
![]() This will give you the idea, what the braces look like at the end of the flare mouth.
