I might be able to get a bunch of Pd1850's blown drivers in need of recones...
What are working ones going for secondhand at present? Also what is the best price for a recone kit anyone can offer best i've found is £165 plus postage... It seems to me that this is making it a bit pointless to recone them... anyone have any thought on this why so much for a recone kit? surely that is pricing repairs beyond ecconomically feasable...It seems wrong to bin broken drivers that could be fixed. |

If you payed £75-£80 for blown 1850s, you got royally shafted. Talk to the right people, and you can get new 1850s for £280. So £80 for blown driver, then £180 to get it reconed, makes no sense. Most I've ever paid for blown 1850 is £60, and that was Black label 2007 onwards, not ancient white label, or older Mk1, that might even have rust/corrosion in the gap. |

I meant RMJ "probably" offers cheapest price, for a good quality recone. Yes is not 100% PD recone kit, but many of us happy with it. Only other person I would consider is PauliePaul, who does use 100% PD kit, and also does top quality recone. Edited by levyte357- - 12 February 2013 at 2:28am |
