hi everyone-- i just picked up some turbosound tsw-718 (floodlight dual 18s) and was wondering if anyone here had experience loading pd1850's into them. would love to hear your thoughts of compatibility and how they came out.
many thanks, danny

One rather doubts there will be enough clearance to fit an 1850

pd1850 is a great in your face full on bass driver but running them up to 170 ish to meet floodlight as well as bass, lots of better more musical drivers that will do that wide a range
look at other simillar designs like f218 and usb's and see what drivers are being used in the way you want !!

RCF LF18G401 is IMO great for 18" BPH.
the 1850 will give peaky response in most cases |

Have heard the PD1850 multiple times in the martin mach ballister MS118 in stacks of up to 18, and i think the peaky response actually is not so bad at all. Sounded great doing deep house and techno. Putting them in the turbosound BPH's will give a good outcome i think in multiples. Putting only singles of any BPH will always be peaky however. Take a minimum of 2 tsw's per side.

there is not enough room for the massive magnet and you will never get them in through the hatch without carving great chunks out of the woodwork, and then the access panel probably won't fit back on either..

id second the pd184/186 and maybey even add the 188
not because the 1850 isnt god [or the fact it wont prbably fit] more because well the ciare 6.38mr3 is a lovely mid range driver for a horn. but i wouldnt use it as a scoop driver or sub nt the right tool for the job the 1850 would be best used in some kind f horn or bandpass sub under the turbo bins id ave thught

they do fit ... only just but they do fit
but a better choice would be the PD186 or PDN18SB40 |
