I dont think thats fair at all, as far as i can tell Rog isnt here to try and trick people, thats ridiculous. He was just siming a couple of different drivers in that cab. Why would he make it up? Whats not to believe?

Nobody said he is here to trick people, i think your getting the wrong end of the stick Jake.

I just dont believe (and im sure im not alone) that V1200 can play a touch deeper or a touch louder than a PD. As shown in them graphs n plots. I make this statment as somebody who has had first hand experience with both drivers in various types of cabs.

I dont think it could take more than 700w before it pops!

Thats why im seriously considering doing these bench tests

I haven't directly compared 1850/V18-1200 cone visibly or by T/S parms. But I wouldnt go so far as saying anything about the V18-1200 was flimsy.LOL

It looks and feels like a big mans driver should.

But the P1850 does give out more SPL, for the same input power, just not as musical or warm or detailed sounding as the V18-1200.

I haven't compared PD1850/V18-1200 with 1kw available to each, so who knows what happens then?

On the contrary, it looks feels and sounds like a big mans driver should.

Im afraid ill have to insist on the word flimsy, even when the driver was released it was an issue.

It does "look" like a big man driver even in my pics below it looks very impressive but i still dont believe it to out do the PD.

According to the plots in the linky above it doesnt!!

Wink  lets wait and see shall we.

Rog says he's blown up/broke every driver before EXCEPT a v18-1200. Hes even blown a v18-1000. Although it depends on the circumstances, cos the 1200 might have been able to take the power but i dunno how harsh the conditions were, maybe there wasnt much stress on the cone...?
