So, what do you think about the 3 cab-versions (HOG, ARLS, Micro Scoop) loaded with the 18Sound 12LW1400???
Any technical improvements propositions???

Hey fellas, i got another cab-design that might be interesting in that case: Startec Tapped Horn

Here is the original plan on which my downscaled version is based on:
Startec Tapped Horn
Dimensions of th downscaled cab:
610x549x380mm (24x21,6x15inch)

Startec Tapped Horn downscaled - 18Sound 12LW1400 - Hornresponse Input Data
Startec Tapped Horn downscaled - 18Sound 12LW1400 - SPL
black = 1x
grey = 3x

Another tapped horn alternative is the Staiper Design (TH Mini style).
Again downscaled, not loaded with the 18Sound but with the original TH Mini driver B&C 12PS100.
The reason why i simulated it with the B&C driver is that the response with that driver is smoother than with the 18Sound.

Here the original Staiper Design which is a little bit bigger than the original TH Mini, on which the design is based on:
Staiper Design (TH Mini style)
Dimensions of the downscaled version are:
610x475x380mm (24x18,7x15inch)

Staiper Design (TH Mini style) downscaled - B&C 12PS100 - Hornresponse Input Data
Staiper Design (TH Mini style) downscaled - B&C 12PS100 - SPL
black = 1x
grey = 3x

Here is to compare the simulation with the 18Sound:
Staiper Design (TH Mini style) - Comparison 12PS100 vs. 12LW1400 - SPL
black = 18Sound 12LW1400
grey = B&C 12PS100

Construction of the " 12" mini scoop" is just like this.
Client wanted to have many "lightweigted" subs. And, how you knows, a clients wishing
is a low.
After some experiments he changed 3x12"subs to one Martin WSX Wink

Hey, the designer himself!
Thx for elucidation of that case!!!
What are the dimensions of one cab?
Why did he finally change to one WSX? ...cause of lower cut-off frequency?
What do you think about the tapped alternatives i posted?
Did you also engineer the top on these 3 subs shown on the pic?

Yeah, WSX is much lower than this microbes with 65Hz cut-off frequency (for 3pcs)/
The problems with "quick" LF was eliminated after a birth of this 3-way sat (MB-2x10"/MF-10"/HF-2").
and finaly, i don't like a scoop-constructions subs because of its questionable compromise. I think that freq band widening in all types of lspk is not justified.
