Rog stated that the driver needs as less rear chamber as possible. My own sims indicate a rear chamber of about 0.6 ltr. So I would build the final chamber as much around the driver as possible. Perhaps make a vent directly onto the magnet cooling vent for heatdissipation or make the rear chamber out of metal? Cheers |

SN 12B doesn't have a cooling vent If i calculated right the original MT122 has about 17,5l. In my sketch it is about 15.2l. Edited by Vivo |

I thought the cooling on the SN range was thru the perforated sections around the magnet assembly?

A good way to get really small volumes is to make the rear chamber depth so that the rear panel is coincident with the magnet, then seal around the magnet, the entire back part of the speaker + cooling vent will be outside the cabinet that way, optimal cooling. I will make the next batch of mid-horns i build this way. cheers Rob |

I remember ages ago seeing a car speaker with a miniture cooling fan bolted with brackets across the vented pole piece. And was rated 2500w rms I think it was Atomic or some make like that.
