not a lot - socapex for instance would be crimped which is rather tedious. But then, they prefer harting / lectraflex which are even more tedious...

We've always crimped our mains connections,  in our lovely JST crimp press,  I was just curious if the Germans had something specific against them. 

Soldered connections do have a habit of breaking off just where the wire runs out of solder if there is any movement at all. They are frowned upon in aviation for that reason.
