I think whats more interesting on this event is the use of different design cabs as well as driver sizes I think.

Should be a heavy night....cant wait

why has no one talked about the very obvious.....

my view.....

2 x 15 per sub box, box is possibly a b6 lined reflex, with internal driver cooling, to stop thermal compression....

They do sound very impressive, and the transient response alone tells me they are 15" drivers. The power cord to each box tells me there's more to em than a reflex, Port depth and angle tells me possible b6 loading, and possibly assisted port aligned.... The air flow when not playing music tells me possibly internal cooling and would account for power to each box.....

And all this from just looking at them....

Interesting observation. Where do you think he put the fan? In the plenum (If PPSL) or inside the box?

Inside the box, my guess is its a cooling heat sinc attached to the drivers, Like a pc cooling fan heat sinc...

I was there at gp found it impressive and came to same conclusion 2 x 15 with air cooling.
There not the first.

Interesting! Smile

But how is the air flow organised? If there is air flowing out, surely air must be going inside somewhere? The fans also need to be placed in such a way that they don't interfere too much with the acoustic output....

I'm sure the community ones used ferro fluid cooling, by injecting ferro fluid in to the driver magnet, while they were build, this differs some what, as there is no actual internal cooling... Ive never seen this range but remember reading up on them. I'm sure some one on hear can advise better...

Liquid cooling is my way of thinking, Being a reflex the chamber is not sealed, so air is allways flowing in and out via the ports....

Here is an other clever way to cool a driver.

i hope this event is limited to 4/6 bass boxes per sound, then we can actually tell whos heavy and whos not

RC1 sounded good at gp look forward to hearing them again, air cooled pd iirc ;)
