Hi,

don't know where to put this topic...

I have two Avitec Beta 500 here in Germany but I thought there might be more collectors/fans for it on this forum.

At the moment I have no use for them and would like to give them away.
Are they still worth something?

A quick test after several years in storage showed some tiny noise on one of the amps, I can check that more rigorously.

What's the age of those amps?

If anybody has infos or interest, just drop a line.

I was gonna say they came from the early 90's... then I looked at the photos. From that I reckon they're from the 80's and, (from the rear panel photo), I'd say  they may have been made by C-Audio. They look almost identical to some of the C-Audio stuff, so maybe a rebadge?

Someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly I'd imagine.

The Golden Oldies section might be a good place to post this.

Yup they were made by C-audio for Avitec quite nice amps but they have a tendency to rust like an old Alfa Romeo there was a range of then from 500 to 1200 watts.

Edit the amp's in the photo's are the earlier versions.

They were made by C-Audio for Avitec & as i remember the last series was the Beta 7 and was a C-Audio RA3000 (With a different labelled front panel). Many of the Avitec series were C-Audio's combination of the SR & RA series we all know (internally).

I have repaired a few of the early Beta series and the internals look like a SR (the way the MOSFET's are fitted and have heatsink's attached to each FET & part of the bottom chassis).

Thumbs Up
