This driver will "work somewhat" in a number of existing Scoops, but not optimally.
Superscooper design modded to provide slightly larger chamber, would work.

Also reference efficiency of 1.90%, would put me off using this straight away.

Also would estimate the Xmax is closer to 11.5, not 14mm.

Also note cutout is 424mm, quite large.

I had these in scoops - went back to PD very quickly. Very power hungry and not optimum situation using heavyweight amps on 13amp supply - just doesnt get the best out of them...

You will need a big powersoft and hang 2 a side to give them the right headroom. Even when set up this way the driver will be surpassed by PD1850 and 1852. They Sound good and musical but not going to bring the house down...xmax figures are realisitic the cones certainly do move a lot.

I could see all of this happening, just by looking at the TS Parms. Geek
Driver like this, really needs optimal box, to give worthwhile results.

Ref efficiency 1.9% tells you will be very power hungry, and difficult to get going.

Qes = 0.29 tells will have warm sound, but not as efficient as some

PD1850/51/52, all have higher Ref efficiency, so will be more sensitive.

How would the driver work in your lev .44 scoops?
I have 10 of these they work ok in rog super scoop,
But I want the best performance out of them.
I’m running 2 a side on a k20.

2 a side on k20 is the right amplification - whats freq band are you playing through them?

I have been running them at 40-125 hz on the drive rack.

They would work fine, in my Lev .44, as I have tried drivers with "very similar" parms, but more sensitive.

If I were in your position, I would ideally sell these, and get more efficient drivers, more suited to the cab.

Void V18-1000s/B&C 18TBX100 In Superscooper, would allow 6x cabs per K20.

There would also be fairly simple Scoop mod, to change driver chamber from 44L to approx 65L, keeping Scoop throat same volume, which would allow even more drivers, to be optimal in your cabs.

Have never used, heard PD1850/2.

I know the V18-1000/B&C 18TBX1000 work excellently in standard  Scooper, and K20 could easily drive 3x per side, if on decent mains power source.

What makes of 18" drivers, do you have easy access to?

Can you get Oberton drivers?

Oberton 18XB1500 may well appreciate the tightness of your Super Scoopers.

I will look into this driver, as I’m not familiar with the brand.

Why would that rcf not work?
If you listen to Lev, the 18NLW9601 is the crappies 18 inch for a scoop. Which took him about 4-5 years to finally realize that it actually spanks almost everything out there in a right scoop.

Not all of us play from 13amp soc’s so sometimes the info or advice shouldn’t be important.

I don't really understand the whole 13A thing. A 13A plug with 13A fuse on a sensibly loaded 32A ring would in all likelyhood give you more power on tap than a 16A ceeform

Might as well smash your head against a wall mate. Never mind that if you aren’t melting the plug, popping a fuse or tripping a breaker you have 26A to play with for peaks. Not that said K20 will rarely draw over that unless you’re loading the shit out of both channels and playing some waves at the impedance minima.

I've been running the LF18x401 in Wardrobes and quite like it though I haven't yet measure output.

Levyte, any chance you can share any opinions on the specs for the 401 based on your experience?

The driver is great but not really suited to scoops, or there isnt a DIY or known designed scoop that it would perform well with. Maybe shortman full??

Stick two of these in a double reflex and the driver will be much more at home.

Pretty sure Lev has been answering questions for over 10 years, without charging anyone..

Also heard he gave someone a free Scoop plan, that they loved, and when they said they where going to build 8x for tourist season, the tw*t went off, when Lev asked for $50.

Just what I heard..

erm, that doesnt belong here! sharing private messages through a forum is a nogo.

Apart from that, is this scoop plan you are talking about anywhere on the net or did he sent it to you via PN? If the latter, it would be good manners to ask again when you build more. It also would be good manners to tell in advance if you expect any money for something.
