What is the best modern drivers for the martin 215mk3, cheers.

if you are building new ones route a deeper groove on the baffle for the suspension to move into - without this modern drivers are wasted.

In these design it's no use to put in expensive, heavy speakers (therefor inefficient), because they can't get rid of heat fast enough to survive like 1kW for longer than half an hour or so. Nothing will happen in a 10-15 minute test, but things will go wrong fast when used in anger during a real gig.
And another thing with front loaded horns... there's always a point where you stop making more SPL and only add distortion, when you keep on adding power beyond that point.
The ticket is really found in the most efficient fifteen you can find with an Xmax of at least 6 mm
BL factor solid above 20
Qes/Qts preferably below 0.30
3" voicecoil ( 4" if you must )

PD153ER, PD154, PD158, Beyma 15P80Fe or Nd to name a few.
