Day 1 of the carnival - top sound systems (to me!)

Killawatt - Great overall sound - heavyweight (can’t remember the details!)

Volcano - L’Acoustics on mid hi and several huge FLH (21”-24” possibly?)

Aba Shanti-I - QSS system totally grilled/foamed up so couldn’t tell what it was packing BUT thunderous and authoritative bass, mids were a little strained and HF a little too bright. Probably because of the way Aba prefers the sound! Non the less, fantastic

Looking forward to day 2!

Great weather and vibes this afternoon.

These are the sound systems that stick in my mind.

This one for sheer bass pressure:

https://ibb.co/xh4bSDw" rel="nofollow - https://ibb.co/xh4bSDw

This one very close on sheer bass pressure to the one above, but also very hi-fi sound and even coverage:

This one for quite simply a very appealing and powerful sound:

This one for having a very punchy sound. Proper kick in your chest:

All I can say is

QSS - Stand up tall ClapClapClap

Aba Shanti-i sounded even better than yesterday. Best system of the weekend.

Also big up the 2x RC1 trucks, they were as brutal far away as they were up close!

Sinai tops sounded spot on, just how I thought they would. Nice clear sound.

https://ibb.co/znS158h" rel="nofollow">

The void rig for sir Lloyd as always sounded just right, the bass is always so heavy with the x-horn extension. Probably could have done with another arcline 8 on top of the three, just to carry that sound to the back of the crowd but apart from that sounded great.

https://ibb.co/Jc0phQt" rel="nofollow">

This float definitely had the best vibes by far, amazing energy and spirit from everyone involved and good selection of tunes.

https://ibb.co/HrVcPzx" rel="nofollow">

All in all a good carnival experience, even if it was a little busy to say the least

So rumour has it, Volcano was heaviest sounding static sound system.

Anyone know how many sub cabs, they used?

Was told 8x 24" FLH, 4X 24" Paraflex.

I was stood by the delay stack with the L’Acoustics line array tops and 4x 24” FLH on the Sunday.

Didn’t manage to get near the front but the delay stack was very potent ⚠️

Aba Shanti-I was the heaviest all round with his Kutty boxes

RC1 trucks were very kick heavy as well!

I guess the problem with "us" using "heaviest" phrase, does not specify, if there were huge amounts of 50-60hz, or the more difficult, huge amounts of 40hz.

The space aba plays in is very different and usually has 3 stacks positioned well enough to contain a decent level of sound everywhere. Volcanos crowd was in a large rectangular shape so you're only ever around a certain amount of the bass if you get what i mean. Heard great things about both their sites. I was only at NHC sunday and couldnt find either of their sitesOuch

I'm sure after no NHC for 2x years, the thousands of people, that were listening to that system, dancing and drinking, were thinking about that.

It was definitely lacking mid and top off axis! Splayed point source midtops would have made the rig perfect

No bad word intended! I’m a firm believer in atmosphere above the best available, otherwise my own rig wouldn’t be used anytime :) More that l’acoustics is normally quite protective in using their gear in other ways they intended.
