Hello!

Can anybody point me to exact plans (and maybe even building instructions) for the Acoustic 361 18" bass cabinet?
I want to build a passive replica of it with an original Cerwin Vega 188EB.

I was only able to find these very rough measurements: https://i.imgur.com/uqJ2Lrq.jpg

Ive nothing useful to add but Im intrigued.

why the retro project?

they served a purpose in their day before modern PAs when your stage volume was the bulk of the audience volume and horn loading was needed because amplifier power was limited but I cant see the attraction in such an unwieldy, compromised and backbreaking piece of kit in a modern setting. That said, why should sanity ever be allowed to override passion.....

Thanks, I guess those detailed 370 plans combined with the rough sketches I posted initially should give enough information.

People keep telling me how there are better alternatives that can go both lower and higher but to be real, I have no need for those frequency ranges. On the contrary, I actively want to avoid the "HiFi treble" and also the "rumble octave" since they would create problems in a live situation and also just sound shitty to my personal perception of the optimum bass tone.

There has to be a reason Jaco Pastorius insisted on using the 361s even into the 80s when they were already very outdated (on paper). It surely wasn't for "retro reasons".
Also, I wouldn't have to depend on the competency of the sound engineer to dial in a good sound.

Plus I already got hold of two Cerwin Vega 188EBs for very cheap years ago.
