As some may have seen already on some fb forums, I have designed and build a new 18" BR cabinet using the Faital Pro 18XL2000 driver.
Tuning is 32Hz with a port of 540cm2. Net volume is around 140L.

I have some pics of the build and response, but have to find a new website to host the images.

Feel free to build, if you have any questions, you can post them in this thread.

That is very inefficient.

Won't get more efficient for a BR. Maybe lower mms driver or lower re driver to get numbers up, but a 18XL2000 in this volume is quite it. No magic.

Slightly bigger cabinet will gain 2db at 40Hz. But if compact was the idea, then all good.

Quote That is very inefficient.

There is a nice spike in efficiency at 50Hz.

Yup, we are all just Hofmann's bitches in the end, like it or not.

End result with build in plate amps (i know what they resemble Wink).
Each sub can be used for multiple setups including 2.1.

Happy with the result, go low, but still sound tight.

Currently busy with a side project to build some amp modules around my own dimensions. A lot of the current (cheaper) options have basic plates that in most cases are quite wide. But that project will take quite some time and research to get some parts at a good price and will be a whole other topic when its time.

They are from OMB audio.

How do you find the DSP on those? I got few amp plates to test and they just sit there on the shelv for years now. Horrible DSP.

I have had two previous converters before using the OMB one and the OMB one did the job. Not the best DSP, but seeing what is available for consumers, not much choice.

The amp modules themselves are quite ok, and for me enough choice regarding size, channel and power options. I would be fine with designing an own plate etc, but finding a suitable DSP that can be bought by less then hundreds has been quite impossible.

A search for the holly grail at the moment even for way more than hundreds.
i am working on developing our own one because the search have proven futile.
It is such an oportunity for someone that can fill the void but no one seems be grabbing the opportunity.
