Is it possible to use a G-Sub stacked on top of a pair of scoops wired in parallel with the scoops? If the G-Sub had matching 18” speakers with the scoops? Would it sound out of phase?

If your Scoops aren't playing low/loud enough, without mixing other sub cabs, suggest:
  • Better drivers,
  • Better sub amps,
  • Better pre-amp.

I was watching an old video of Jah Tubby’s and it looked like he had 18” subs stacked on top of his scoops, maybe it was the Jah Tubby’s ‘muderous’ way of playing. I doubt he was using the 18’s above his scoops for mid-bass.

Thats going to be some odd mix. Skip the scoops and get some more Gsubs and strap them to something like a LAB PLM 14000.
And use big boy drivers while your at it. Easy to setup. Easy to use. And no over excursion issues besides if you really push it to the max.

Actually I know him, been to many of his dances, and that's exactly what he did, 2x18 reflex on Mid bass.

For Reggae/Dub systems, reflex is the absolute best cab above Scoops, for 80-300hz.

In fact only thing better, is 15" reflex.

Reggae/Dub mid bass section, is more about low mid, as opposed to kick bass.

ES18,gives strongest kick 70-150, but 2x15 reflex, gives the 90-300hz, real thick sound on low mid vocals, on music/mic.

I have 4x 3x15" cabs, which are same width as 2x 18" Scoops, I also have a few PD158s, gagghing to go in them

That lot would be shouty, indoors or out.

Gsub is far from optimised for modern high xmax drivers. You need far more port area to maximise performance.

Didn't say he should just go with original Gsub. Everybody should know the cab have to match the drivers.
