What numbers does your driver have written on the back of it?  I think iirc the early W2 used ATC and newer ones had RCF.

The driver code for the W2 (8 Ohm) is listed as DLS 231.

I dont know if this would relate to the ATC or RCF.

Couldn't find anything for sale in the usual places. Replacement driver from Martin would be big money unfortunately.

Can you post a picture?

You should be able to get it reconed, whichever driver it is.

What other high quality speaker could I replace it with.

I believe it is a variant of the "ATC PA75-314". No idea which one as that drive came in about 100 different variations.

There are specs for a few different versions on the ATC website at https://atc.audio/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/ATC-Driver-Specs.pdf" rel="nofollow - https://atc.audio/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/ATC-Driver-Specs.pdf

To be honest its probably worth giving martin a call given they are based in the UK and might have some info to help you out. They might even have a driver kicking about although given the age of the W2 it certainly would no longer be a supported product.

Also on the look out for one of these. The others members are correct in saying it's an ATC driver. Martin don't stock them anymore. Have also spoken to ATC and they weren't entirely sure which version the DLS231 was.

If you find a pair of W2 for sale at a sensible price and want to split the cost, let me know.

As 'madboffin' (a former Martin Audio employee) mentioned, you should be able to get them re-coned quite easily in the UK and will likely id the driver for you given a decent picture :)
