I've just been pricing up some 19 way Trident multipin panel mounts and associated bits. I got the plugs, sockets, back shells and dust caps sorted and thought, "gosh, this is pricy but i'll just have to pay it" Then I added in the pins and receptacles... well, thats not happening... upwards of £2 each and I need 320 of them... ffs. Has anyone found an alternative? I need a 16 way IP65 connection system, 10 panel mount sockets and 10 free plugs, each will be a 4 way spider..... fingers crossed.... ------------- blah blah blah blah blah...... |

Yep, I can’t recall the front panel size off the top of my head but there’s just enough room for 4 19 way ITT panel mounts side by side and 4 XLR sockets directly above. I’ve ordered a set of 8 pin bulgin buccaneer 400 type which may do but I’d need to squeeze 8 in. It’s for a control box for 32 lines of led tape but needs to be good outdoors and small. The 8 way connectors would give me a 4 way spider (2 lines sharing power and 4 separate data lines) ------------- blah blah blah blah blah...... |

both rs and farnell do m12 connectors, made by hirschmann. But in my experience they're easily broken, the plastic between the pins is quite thin to accomodate all the pins in a small space.
