Hi all,
I just obtained a broken DB technologies amp, was told the power supply was defective... Anyone ever repaired a HPA-2800? Or someone can provide circuit diagrams?

Started by fixing the power supply board, the soft-start's NTC s and one 100n ceramic capacitor were blown, replaced these and no problems with amp boards disconnected. Connected the wiring to A and B channels, fuse trips at startup. So found out one channel is shorting.
B-channel's all five TTC5200 and TTA1943 are all shorted
Would you replace the transistors on the other channel as well?
the pos. and neg. side's IXTP76N075T mosfets are shorted too (and one track burned off at the drain) and seem to be obsolete, but can be replaced One dual rectifier diode from +MID rail is gone as well.

You're just wasteing your time with this sort of chinese craps,in order to do a proper repair you need to change: all drivers (even if they look good, the're not),all output transistors, all switching rails mosfets and the double diodes as well, only then you can have little bit of trust in it,if only one driver or output have the smallest problem you blew again 20 parts,so replaceing all the related parts with power suppy and output will fix it,not to mention that i found even the Op-Amp blown in one, however the supply zeneers were fine,i hate chinese craps!

I ordered all transistors, mosfets and diodes for both channels. Never thought it was a chinese amp, both db and rcf have this model and are italian.

I may fix it and sell it... Should make a decent profit when it's working again. Then I'll look for a used crown/qsc/powersoft

All the parts from inside are Japanese, output Sanken etc, even the network filter is Jpanese as well...but it sounds nothing like a Japanese amplifier...it sounds so mud...lack of details....like you listen on a 1936 valve radio

OOOKAY never mind I'll look further. Prefer a bargain that needs fixing. the V1000 you show looks a whole lot different than the VLP-2500

American Audio VLP,T-Amp Ta,Db Technologies HPA,DAP Audio Palladium,C-Mark MR series and another 150 chinese craps are all the same internal, same topology,my V1000 indeed is different,is class AB with 6 sanekn outputs per ch,should sound superior to any 2SC5200/A1943 amplifier in class H,however just because the schematics are cheap coppy sounds just as bad as it looks

I'm looking for powering the startec HR18 cabs with the RCF L18N401.
Have a bunch of amps, 3x Inuke 6000 amps laying around, one VLP2500 and two HPA2800. Selling all the above should get me enough cash for an upgrade. Also some rather vintage gear, a pair of Roland SRA-800 and a pair of SRA-560 amps. Not sure on selling those... I currently use a Citronic amp for my tops, any of the the above on subs.

Nope, nothing to do with the real UK Citronic,it is the Chinese Citronic, they bought Citronic long time ago, unfurtunate nothing to do with the old real Uk Citronic amplifiers, the last UK Citronic amplifiers made are the Conquest series, also are Lateral Mosfets,no 2SC5200/2SA1943 junks.
