Looking for 18” super scoop plans with the back bottom cut on a slant for wheels/Castors.

Also looking for MT121 plans. All links besides an unverified design from France is what I’m able to track down.

Any help is appreciated.

The SuperScooper plans should be pretty easy to adapt for castors, but the size of the cut-off would hugely depend on the size of castors you'll be using.

You'd just... cut off part of the back. Then stick a piece of wood flat where there's otherwise a hole. There's no acoustic implications as long as they're all glued together as they already should be. That kind of does also mean you could do this after the cabinet was built.

I would strongly recommend Mykey Scaled up Fane plan, over the Superscooper 18, unless Void V18-1000s to be used.

Thanks, I was hoping to there was plans out there with something already factored in.

Appreciate the mykey fane scaled up suggestion.

If anyone has mt121 info or guidance on where to get the plans, it would be appreciated.

The plan on here is for the MT122 (2x12 mid horns + 1xHF between the two mids), I believe the 121 is just the 122 but with the top Mid horn removed.

Yea it’s not the mt121. I made the post to try and get plans that didn’t need modification.

well the 12" section remains the same.

and above the 12" you may as well modify it slightly to fit whatever high frequency horn you're going to use.

all box building projects will require a bit of figuring out even with a plan.

they're a difficult build.. there is also somewhere a plan someone made for a "simplified mt121" with straight horn sections. have a look for that maybe?

If you have the plan for the double version then you have all the information and detail you need to build a single version.

As mentioned above, just use he MT122 Plan, and build with 1x 12" section not 2x.

Personally prefer MT121 orig plan with 1x12", as opposed to the TDA 121, straight horn version.

Have heard both, and MT121 with 2x part horn, to my ears, plays louder, projects further than TDA MT121 straight horn version.

Here is video of 4x MT121s, accidentally covering approx 1000 people, outside.

Was supposed to be small 2012 Royal Jubilee Royal celebration, but as sub and tops could be heard miles away, Broadwater Farm, Tottenham was packed until midnight.

Re:Scoop plan.

Would prefer 636mm wide version of this over Superscooper, will perform better, with many modern drivers, also the extra bracing from the angle Scoop section.

Also, very easy to add the rear bottom angle for (100mm blue quality castors Wink).

If using neo drivers, would suggest removing 2nd internal baffle. to increase chamber depth. from 190mm to  to 208mm.

Hey Lev,
For the Mykey scaled up fane plan - would I make the interior 636mm instead of the mogale super scooper 600mm?

Thanks

Thanks for confirming.

I’m in the USA and I have best pricing options and availability with my distributor for B&C / Faital Pro / 18 Sound / Beyma / RCF

Can anyone confirm some modern drivers from any brands above that would fit this scaled up fane design?

I have B&C 18HP1060 and looking at the 18HW1070

There is a plan for the MT121 which is fully 15mm ply. It keeps the same dimensions as the original but I think it's probably an easier build, though still not easy. It's on the net somewhere, I believe there is a thread about it on this forum.

Here is the thread but the plans have gone, can't find them here either.

For this cab, Look for drivers, of similar BL, Xmax, Qes, Qts to 18NLW9601, Precision Devices PD1852, drivers with 5" VC, BL 30+, Qts/Qes approx 0.33, are the special ones.

For Scoops, Never seen any drivers from RCF, Faital Pro, Beyma that interested me.

Only 18sound, B&C, Precision Devices.
