Hi everyone,

My family and I lost our home and everything in it in the January Eaton Canyon fire. I had just purchased a pair of Denton 85th anniversary bookshelf speakers and the center channel I had was an older M&K brand center channel that I purchased from a friend many years ago. Everything burnt so I’m starting from scratch and I just purchased another pair of the same Dentons 85th, but now I don’t have a center channel.

These Dentons have a specific sound to them, so should I just get a third Denton 95th and use it as the center channel or is that not a good idea? I’m not a speaker expert so would like your expert opinion. I believe Wharfedale does make a center channel but I have no idea how good that is. Also, should I buy a different brand center and if yes which one that would pair and sound really well for the LR Dentons? I will really appreciate your help.

Thank you.

Ideally, all 3 front speakers (LCR) should be identical or atleast use the same drivers. I don't believe Wharfedale make a centre channel to match the Dentons, so if it's possible for you to buy a 3rd 85th anniversary one then that's what I would suggest. Keep the speaker in the same orientation as the stereo pair, and as close to the same height as possible.
