Hi, I want to make some budget diy pa system and I have a problem and that is I live in apartment and i dont have very good power tools for wood cutingCry. And I was thinking if I can buy a empty or cheap 2 way wooden cabinet and put better components. I found the box PA 15 ECO MKII on thromann and to just put some better high driver + horn and better mid range driver now idk if box is good it is made of plywood. And here is link to the box  https://www.thomannmusic.com/the__pa15eco_mkii.htm - https://www.thomannmusic.com/the_box_pa15eco_mkii.htm

Total up how much money the boxes will cost plus getting better components for them (and throwing away perfect working drivers?) and I can say for certain that you’d get a better second hand option anywhere. The drivers would already be matched to the box, the crossovers if running passive would be correct and it would be well built. I understand the desire to have some “diy” ownership over it but this is definitely not the way to do it.

blah blah blah blah blah......

Well the problem is the used market is not that good like only stuff that is there are diy boxes and reselling the total cost would be like i can get bins on b-stock for around 100-90$ i will keep mid range driver for some time the horn+high range driver 100-150$ crossover will diy something 20$.

you could build something like this in your kitchen

https://celestion.com/blog/build-this-15-two-way-pa-cabinet-design/" rel="nofollow - https://celestion.com/blog/build-this-15-two-way-pa-cabinet-design/

you might pay a small premium on wood if you have it cut to plan
but that leaves you with only making a bunch of holes with a jigsaw

best, julius
