Hello everyone!

I want to present my new setup that I abandoned for a while but now I'm determined to build it.

It's my own project, not taken from someone else or copied, everything made from scratch, including the grilles are personalized.

The subwoofers will be equipped with Eminence lab 12 tuning 35hz, a project designed for DJ/LIVE applications.

The tops will be equipped with Faital pro12 hp1060+Eminence psd3006 driver+Eminence h2ea horn, tuning 57hz with flat response up to 300-400h voice, a project also for DJ/LIVE.

Applications Raptor orange ral2008 paint.
Raptor black grille paint.

The project was designed for a coverage of up to 500 people outdoors.

Greetings.
That's an unusual combination of drivers to choose - making them all work together might be a little difficult.

Could you explain why you chose them, and how you plan on getting the most out of them?

Hi, DMorison!

Thanks for your question. You've hit the nail on the head; it's a deliberate combination, optimized for extreme performance (SPL & Low-End) and requires advanced processing.

Enclosure Engineering: The subwoofers (2x LAB 12) are a Bassreflex-horn design tuned to 35 Hz. This provides a much deeper bass (Low-End) with high SPL which is essential for modern music events.

Faital pro12HP1060 tops are chosen to have the necessary power headroom and to keep up with the Lab 12.

DSP Solution: Alignment is done via a dB Mark DP48Plus DSP (3-way stereo), using 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley Filters at 80 \text{ Hz} and 1.4 \text{ kHz} for correct phase summing. Temporal Alignment (Delay) is also calculated and implemented.

I assure you that the system is Engineered Sound and is not left to chance.

I appreciate the expertise!

The graphs are theoretical:

The 115 dB is the corner measurement

The 105 dB is in the open air

The 140 dB is theoretical at 800 w rms

Out of interest why did you choose lab12 in reflex trather than decent 18 in a reflex? What amps are you running?

Is there a picture of the completed system.

Thanks

Because through the project I put over an 18 inch in response, the project was validated by McNutt Jerry from Eminence as being very solid bass.

I also had a single piece at an outdoor show and the mayor and the event organizer were impressed, as well as at the pools.

Sounds interesting.
Are you able to share anything about the design of the sub please?
Given the LAB12 drivers have low sensitivity and power handling, it will need to add a bit of gain to let the drivers keep up with the higher powered 12HP1060's, especially as there's 2 of those on each mid-top.
Are you planning on multiple subs?

One of the links is to a drawing of the bass cabinet. It is just a bass reflex design with a slightly flared port. If that is the design being used there is no way it will reach 140dB.

Of course the link might just be to a random drawing.

Oh yeah, I must have overlooked that, thanks.
Completely agree, multiple of those would be needed for good bass to 500 people outdoors.

I was interested see as had a couple of spare lab 12s the other year and wanted a compact bass solution. Looked at lab 12 reflex

I ended up with fane xb 18 colususus 800w in a b and c sub 18 box.

With respect, I wouldn't be building a system from scratch that I knew was going to need a lot of processing, there are plenty of high quality 18's about now that would give you spl and low end from a compact cabinet without a lot of processing.

A  2 x 12 reflex sub shouldn't need much processing. It could be a language problem either English or technical terms.

The Lab 12s work well in a reflex cabinet, and would be a good choice for home system. For PA work Ciare, BMS or Faital Pro drivers offer more Umph at the expense of slightly less bass extension.

If the OP is OK with the levels they produce, even if it isn’t actually 140dB, happy days.
