Hi I'm planning to build a system in 2026, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the stuff I don't know.

I used to be a front of house engineer, so I have a good ear. I've also been a carpenter and have a friend with a CNC machine, so building the boxes should be fine.

But I'm not a technician, and feel there's a lot I need to understand about phasing, crossover points etc.

Has anyone done a course to learn this stuff or are you all self-taught? I was looking at this one:

https://cortex-training.com/courses/sound-system-operators-course-training/

It's expensive, but I feel the grounding could be invaluable.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks.
