hi all,

carnaval is coming so we borrowed some exta k10's.
one of the amp is turning on but gives a code 200 fault.
so i took of the cover to check te fuses and they are all ok,measured on both rails 380v dc.
every fuse on the powersuply is also ok.
took the amp board out to check for burned print lanes.

does somebody had this before??
hopefully i can fix this one since it where there last 2.

thanks in advance!

5.          Error Codes:

Error code

Error description

1

192KHz clock not present

2

Positive 15V aux

4

Negative 15V aux

8

Positive 5V analog

100

Negative power rail Ch1

200

Negative power rail Ch2

2000

Positive power rail Ch1

4000

Positive power rail Ch2

8000

External auxiliary voltage

Check rail fuses

Check rail fuses Ch1 and Ch2 (up to FW 5.3.8)

The error code value displayed in the main screen is the sum of the single error code values.

Example: 4301=4000+200+100+1 means Positive power bus Ch2 +

Negative power bus Ch2 + Negative power bus Ch1 + 192 KHz clock not present

Yes i know but the code reads 200, thats why i checked the fuses,
The problem is that there's voltage on the rails, i had a 200code earlier on a other amp that had blown fuses

Thnx

Can you look at the LED's on the power supply board (row of 3 green and one red), do these light up ?.

All three green LEDs should be on when amplifier is powered up, if not then this means that one of the V Aux supplies is missing which supplies the 15V for the board logic etc. (unless you have a faulty LED on the power supply board).

I would measure these three voltages and then check the voltage regulators (4 in total) on the main amplifier board as well. Clap

I am also in the same boat, who's fixing K series these days. If you are or want to buy a broken K20 talk to me 07738 515887

I have 2 green led's by the fans, 3 green led's by the front panel  on startup 1 lid up en went out....? Red is off
To the right on the side of the power supply is also 1 led

You should have the following LED's light up:--

The two green LED's by the fan are to tell that both the positive and negative main power feed supply are present (please wait for these to be off BEFORE any work is done on the amplifier or discharge the main bulk capacitors as very high voltage is present).

The three green LED's that are on the main power supply board should be lit and are to indicate that the three lower voltage rails that run the amplifier logic is present (+VAUX1, +VAUX2 & -VAUX1), these voltages then go off to the main amplifier board to the voltage regulators, 4 in total & are attached to the amplifier heatsink. These voltages that come out of these are +15V, -15V, +5V Analog & +5V Digital. Please check these voltages and the associated diodes (D9,D10,D30,D31 & D32).

I assume that you have swapped the fuses from the working channel to the non working channel ? and that the main power feed going into the main amplifier board (via the 6 black wires) are reaching the other side of the PCB board (via the board tracking and wire links) to power the other channel ?.

Regards

Simon

Thnx Simon! I will, i called the owner and he said there maybe was a shortage on a cable but was not sure.
If the voltage regulators are faulty then it makes sense, open contact, power on one side en not letting it pass.
I have an old bulb for discharging the capaciters,i measured the power supply and i know 380v dc is DangerousShocked

And yes took all the fuses out for testing.
